25 Nominations for the ZVSHK Product Award | February 2013 |
The ZVSHK, the German Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning Association, is delighted with the positive response to the ZVSHK “Bathroom Design for All” Product Award to be announced at the ISH 2013. St. Augustin In summer 2012, the ZVSHK, the German Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning Association, announced the launch of the international “Bathroom Design for All” Product Award for pioneering products that are designed according to the concept of Design for All. From a total of 55 product entries, a jury of experts has now selected 25 nominations for the ZVSHK Product Award. In addition to entries from German manufacturers, submissions for the award were also received from producers from Japan, Brazil, Italy, Denmark and Austria. Elmar Esser, Managing Director of the ZVSHK, is delighted with the positive response to the competition: “It is a clear indication that the branch is responding to the issue of Design for All.” The competition has been received well by the branch and manufacturers have immediately recognised its potential. “In addition to the large number of entries, we are pleased with the quality of the submitted products,” notes Dr Peter Neumann, Chairman of the preliminary jury for the product award and President of EDAD Design for All – Germany: “It is encouraging to see such a broad range of product groups among the submissions. The nominated products show that Design for All encompasses important issues such as inclusion and ecology.” The 25 nominated products span almost the entire range of product
groups in bathroom design from well-designed and high-quality sanitary
ware and furniture to tap fittings and mounting systems that have been
developed in cooperation with end users and are therefore practical and
user-friendly for a range of users. On 14 March 2013 at the ISH 2013 International Trade Fair in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, an international jury of experts will select the winner of the “ZVSHK Product Award 2013” from the nominated products. The winners will be presented with the ZVSHK “Bathroom Design for All” Product Award as part of an award ceremony to be held at the ZVSHK trade fair stand at the ISH 2013 together with a representative from the Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Urban Development. With the award, the ZVSHK German Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning Association aims to provide a platform for manufacturers to present commercial products that respond to the challenges of demographic change. The award is supported by EDAD Design for All – Germany as professional partner. The ZVSHK, the German Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning Association, is the primary German representative organisation for over 52,500 contractors with over 334,000 employees. In 2012, the economic volume of the sanitation, heating and air conditioning sector amounted to 36.8 billion Euros. The ZVSHK is also a founder and patron of the leading international trade fair ISH.
